Monarch Butterfly
Bethanie brought a monarch butterfly to school. It had just pushed its way out of a chrysalis and was drying her wings. We searched on google to find out if butterflies have 2, or 6 legs like other insects. We will continue to learn about the butterfly life cycle.

Building with blocks
WHAT ARE WE LEARNING? Students get to practise and develop their problem solving skills. As towers fall, new solutions are needed. Balance and eye-hand coordination improves. Their oral language and social skills are developing as they learn to share and cooperate with each other. Descriptive and comparative language is modelled and early mathematical concepts are understood; measurement, probability and geometry are explored in a natural and fun way.
WHERE TO NEXT? Extend complex building... Provide books, pictures of buildings, towers and bridges. Multiple levels to be built. Dramatic and imaginative play is encouraged; continue to make cars and animals avaliable.
